History
There were lot of damage of resources and human power in world war 2nd. Humen of many countries were become very helpless, weak and poor. Therefore, they were unable to make any effort. The life of these people and their children were at the risk. It was deeply observed by international unions.
After the world war 2nd (ended in 2-Sep 1945), the United nations International Children's Emergency Fund (UNICEF) was established on 11th December 1946. As it was clear that it is established to help the children and young people whose life and future has at high risk. This international agency was made for the people of all country. There was no matter what role their country had played in world war II. The ultimate goal of UNICEF was reaching every child in support, protecting children's right to survive and reach their full strength.
Importance
From the starting, girls and women are facing a lot of issues in their life whatever the location of the country is, they are expected to unsafe. When they born, they have to pass with dangerous situation as most of the people do not like female baby. Moreover, they face the problems like gender inequality, marriage problems, right to education, right to freedom etc.
Thus, in order to crush these discrimination against girl's right UNICEF organised International Girl Child day every year on 11th October. According to the data prepared by the International women union, there is not a single field in which females have not reached.
